Inshore Fishing Charter
Inshore fishing charters are available with Vintage Charters. These charters take place in the river, along the beach, and around structure such as the inlet, bridges, and shorelines. The targeted species include snook, tarpon, jacks, redfish, trout, and the occasional pompano, permit, and bonefish. If you choose to request an inshore trip, you will use mostly light tackle. This offers the best results for catching the most fish.
Snook
Snook are the most sought-after inshore fish along the Treasure Coast. It is not unusual during the spring and summer months to catch large 40+ inch snook. Fishing for snook can be accomplished in a variety of ways. Snook can be caught around structure, including bridges, docks, or around the rocks at the St. Lucie Inlet. When fishing for snook, various types of bait can be used including live bait, artificial, or a flyrod. Inshore and near shore snook fishing is both exciting and rewarding. Seeing your prized catch after an exciting fight is one of the most rewarding feelings for any fisherman!
Snook can be found year-round and are delicious. They are slot fish, meaning that only snook between 28-32” can be kept during snook season. There are two open seasons for keeping caught slot snook; from February 1 to May 31 and again from September 1 to December 15.

Tarpon
Tarpon are known to put on a visual fight and are also highly sought after along the Treasure Coast. Tarpon are typically found in Stuart waters along the beaches, in the inlet, and within the river from April to October. Tarpon can give the sailfish a run for their money in regard to their fight and acrobatic display when hooked. They jump and flip through the water and will give you an exciting fight! Tarpon are solely caught for sport and are catch and release only.
Redfish, Trout, Permit, Pompano, Bonefish
These fish are also found while fishing inshore along the Treasure Coast. Redfish and trout are found along the grass flats between Fort Pierce and Stuart. Permit can be found along the beaches and typically migrate through Stuart between March and August. Pompano are a white fish that offers delicious tablefare. They can be found year round, however, you will most likely catch these fish during their migration between November through April. Bonefish can also be found along Stuart waters year round. These fish are strong for their size and put up a measurable fight!
